Giving back to Siargao’s community

“The Earth is what we all have in common.”

Plastic. From convenience to destruction…

Being aware of the current environmental problems is not enough; its time to be a part of the solution and that time is now!

Numerous reports have stated that we, humans, have generated 8.3 billion metric tons of plastic since its inception in 1950. A material with a sole purpose of convenience has become a powerful weapon of destruction to other creatures whom we share this planet with. So, what do 8.3 billion metric tons of plastic looks like?

8.3 Billion Metric Tons is…

1 Billion Elephants

80 million Blue Whales

822,000 Eiffel Towers

41.5 TRILLION bananas

Global Warming

Eternal summer with a dash of extinction and a high probability of super typhoons are definitely not cool. How we wish we are joking or exaggerating, but unfortunately, we’re not.

Global warming is not an apocalyptic prophecy, it is a reality that we continuously face today. The global average temperature has risen to 0.9 degrees Celcius since the early 1900s. Global warming is often synonymous to Climate Change, when in fact, it is just one minuscule effect among the gargantuan list of the cause and effect of this crisis, threatening our already fragile ecosystem, leading to a series of catastrophes that can eradicate our existence.

Sustainability, an experience with a purpose...

To heal our environment, every step counts, no matter how small it may seem, for it all adds up to a bigger and brighter picture. We can do it while having fun!

Bring your own refillable bottles

No need to worry about running out of drinking water, we will set up various water refilling station in the vicinity. Plus, booze is more enjoyable in sturdy containers. Bring your most versatile and trusty drink container; as long as it’s not a single use plastic bottle, you are all set.

Bamboo straws

We decline plastic straws faster than we say no to mainstream music.

As an alternative, bamboo straws, which are sourced locally, will be given for those who enjoy their drinks more with straws.

No to single-use plastic

We highly encourage eco-warriors to bring their zero waste kits such as bottles, cups, straws, etc.

Forgot to pack your kit? Fret not, we are boy scouts, there will be refillable glasses available.

Trash segregation

We urge all participants to respect the place, to maintain cleanliness at all times, and to be a good Samaritan during the 3-day festivities.

For smokers, ashtrays and designated smoking areas will be provided.

Big Coastal Clean up

One way to say a big thank you to Mother Nature is thru a classic big coastal clean-up drive!

Volunteers will be given a free t-shirt plus 3 beers each for a well-deserved reward.

Weaving workshop

Discover the cultural narrative of the Philippines via traditional weaving techniques that have been passed even before the colonial times.
